Tulsi Gabbard: ‘Clear bias’ against me in first debate

Tulsi Gabbard said there was “clear bias” against her time on stage during night one of the first 2020 Democratic primary debate.

Appearing on Fox News Thursday evening, the Hawaii congresswoman responded to host Tucker Carlson’s assertion that she was given the least amount of speaking time and received harsh questioning and “attacks” from the moderators from NBC News, MSNBC, and Telemundo.

“Look, it shows that there is a clear bias in place. I made the most of every minute that I had — wish I had the opportunity to have more time to address these important issues,” Gabbard said on Tucker Carlson Tonight.

Gabbard’s words echoed that of her sister, Vrindavan, during the debate Wednesday. A tweet that came from Gabbard’s account said, “It’s clear who MSNBC wants to be president: Elizabeth Warren. They’re giving her more time than all the other candidates combined. They aren’t giving any time to Tulsi at all.”

Gabbard’s total speaking time during the debate was 6.6 minutes, which was nearly three minutes less than Elizabeth Warren’s 9.3 minutes, and less than half of front-runner Joe Biden’s total time of 13.6 minutes.

Gabbard has 0.8% in the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls, while Warren, a senator from Massachusetts, has 12.8%.
