Pet python escapes from owner while on walk near Pittsburgh

A Pennsylvania man has lost his pet python after taking it for a walk Wednesday.

The two were out for a walk in Duquesne when the snake got away from its owner. As a result, the owner reported the 5- to 7-foot-long snake missing to police Thursday.

Police do not recommend that anyone who finds the snake approaches it but call 911 instead. As the snake can swallow small mammals whole, police recommend everyone in the area practice caution.
