‘Preach!’: Ilhan Omar agrees every criticism of her is ‘Islamophobic’

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., agreed Tuesday that criticisms of her are “ALWAYS” the result of “Islamophobic” people.

“Preach!” Omar tweeted in response to Pam Keith, a former Democratic candidate for Congress in Florida, saying criticism of Omar was off limits.

“When you see an attack on @IlhanMN or @RashidaTlaib KNOW that it is not because they are anti-Semitic, but rather because their attackers are Islamophobic. It is NEVER about their intentions. It is ALWAYS because the right sees their presence in Congress as an affront,” Keith said on Twitter Tuesday.

Omar has ramped up her rhetoric in defense of comments critics have called anti-Semitic. Most recently, Omar defended fellow Muslim Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich.

Tlaib came under fire this week for misstating the role of Palestinians during the Holocaust.

Omar told Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., on Monday, “We all know you never met a Muslim you didn’t want to vilify,” after Cheney criticized Tlaib’s Holocaust comments.

Omar has a long history of comments regarded as anti-Semitic, some for which she has apologized.

Earlier this month, Omar defended Palestinian terrorists as hundreds of rockets rained down on Israel, killing multiple people.

In February, she apologized for comments she made in which she accused the American Israel Political Action Committee of buying influence by paying U.S. politicians.

Since her initial apology, Omar has continued her rhetoric despite criticism from both the Left and Right, claiming the charges of anti-Semitism against her were simply ways to attempt to silence her.

In February, Omar was also denounced for engaging in the anti-Semitic trope of dual-loyalty among American Jews.

“I should not be expected to have allegiance/pledge support to a foreign country in order to serve my country in Congress or serve on committee,” Omar said on Twitter in March. “I am told everyday that I am anti-American if I am not pro-Israel. I find that to be problematic and I am not alone. I just happen to be willing to speak up on it and open myself to attacks,” she said.
