The Syrian army accused Israel of firing rockets at a military airport near Damascus, according to multiple reports.
Syrian state television quoted the army claiming that rockets launched from northern Israel in a “flagrant” attack just after midnight Friday.
“Syrian army command and armed forces warn Israel of the repercussions of the flagrant attack and stresses its continued fight against (this) terrorism and amputate the arms of the perpetrators,” the army said in a statement, according to Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper.
The report said the missiles landed within the airport compound causing a fire, but did not indicate if there were any injuries or deaths.
The Israeli government has neither confirmed nor denied the report, according to the BBC.
