Longtime Trump confidant Roger Stone brought liberal political comedian Bill Maher a “420” cake during Maher’s show Friday night.
At the tail-end of a sit-down interview on HBO’s “Real Time,” Maher asked about an issue he said they both agree on: marijuana policy. Stone said Attorney General is “completely wrong” about his opposition to recreational pot use, though Sessions hasn’t actually cracked down on states that have legalized it yet. Stone even wrote an article urging President Trump let it be a states-rights issue. Marijuana use is still illegal according to federal law.
Maher asked Stone if he is a “Roger Stoner,” to which he quipped: “only when I’m in the states where it’s legal.”
Maher then noted that it was his 420th episode and asked Stone to do him the honor of bringing out a 420 cake.
Later, at the start of a panel discussion, including former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum — who has admitted to smoking pot in college but says he wasn’t proud of it — and former National Security Agency director Michael Hayden, Stone did indeed bring out a cake. It was decorated with a green-colored 420 and a marijuana leaf.
“This cake is completely baked with pot,” Maher said, before jokingly asking Hayden if he’d like a piece.
