The first person to congratulate Eric Trump in March when he announced his wife was pregnant with their first child was not his father, but Vice President Mike Pence.
Donald Trump Jr. shared during a speech to Indiana Republicans at the party’s annual dinner Monday that the first call his brother received was from the state’s former governor.
“I had this conversation with [Eric Trump] about a month ago when he announced he’s expecting his first child,” Trump said. “He said, ‘Don, you know who the first call was?’ I go, ‘Dad?’ He goes, ‘Nope… It was Mike Pence.”
Trump’s middle son, Eric, and his wife Lara are expecting their first child in September. Since President Trump took office, his eldest sons have managed his real estate empire.
