DC mayoral candidates issue education proposals

WASHINGTON (AP) — Candidates for mayor of Washington are laying out competing proposals to improve public education in the city.

Restaurateur Andy Shallal issued an education policy proposal on Friday that represents a break from the approach favored by Mayor Vincent Gray and his predecessor, Adrian Fenty.
