SEE IT: Social media puts Commanders new mascot ‘Major Tuddy’ on blast

“He’s kind of a pig deal,” the Commanders tweeted. “WELCOME OUR NEW MASCOT, MAJOR TUDDY!”

The term “The Hogs” has been a part of Washington, D.C.’s football history for over 40 years and was introduced as praise for the team’s snout offensive line by then-coach Joe Bugel.

Despite the history behind the mascot, fans and social media have not been kind to the organization since the introduction of Major Tuddy.

“Reason 1000 why Washington should have been called the Warthogs and not the Commanders … I actually don’t dislike the mascot. All mascots are inherently stupid and cringey … But Commanders was/is a bad name,” one Twitter user wrote.

“[How] does this franchise mess up literally everything,” another account tweeted.

“Tuddy? Just make like Madden and delete your franchise already,” one user commented.

“This legit looks like a Power Rangers villain,” another tweet read. “Does Bryan Cranston do his voice too?”

The Commanders fell to the Cleveland Browns 24-10 Sunday.
