Reporter April Ryan asked White House press secretary Sarah Sanders if President Trump has considered leaving office amid what she called “turmoil” in his administration.
“With all of this turmoil, particularly this last week, has the president at any time thought about stepping down, before or now?” Ryan asked Sanders at Tuesday’s White House press briefing.
“No and I think that’s an absolutely ridiculous question,” replied Sanders.
Ryan shot back, defending her question as “not ridiculous.”
Ryan’s question came after a series of other questions by reporters mostly dealing with news on Monday that special counsel Robert Mueller’s team had the the hotel room and work office of Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, raided by authorities.
The authorities reportedly looking specifically for records related to Cohen’s payments to two separate women who claim to have had an affair with Trump more than a decade ago.
