Supreme Court declines to take case involving Hunter Biden’s former business partner

The Supreme Court rejected an appeal on Monday from a former business partner of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, who sought to overturn his criminal conviction for securities fraud.

Justices left no comment while leaving in place a federal appeals court ruling reinstating the fraud conviction of Devon Archer. A lower court judge previously sidelined a jury verdict that found Archer guilty of fraud and ordered an additional trial.

Participants in the effort to defraud the Oglala Sioux Tribe in a scheme involving the sale of bonds used the younger Biden’s name to enhance their credentials despite having no involvement in the matter, court records revealed.

Archer was first convicted in 2018 but had it overturned later that year before the court of appeals in New York reinstated the conviction in October 2020.
