WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said on Fox late Tuesday that he was preparing to publish some of its files on Hillary Clinton in the next two weeks, and said they would rock her campaign even more in the final two months of the race.
“The first batch is coming reasonably soon,” Assange said in an interview on “Hannity.” “We’re quite confident about it now. We might put out some teasers as early as next week or the week after.”
WikiLeaks released thousands of emails this summer that Russian hackers are believed to have stolen from the Democratic National Committee, and other Democratic officials and groups.
In the same interview, Assange said Clinton was clearing “lying” about not knowing how classified documents are marked. Interview notes released by the FBI said that Clinton believed the “C” at the top of confidential papers was a means of alphabetizing those documents.
Assange also criticized the Obama administration as the biggest obstacle to pushing First Amendment rights around the world.
The cyber expert said despite Democrats’ rhetoric about the importance of civil liberties and purported respect for free speech, President Obama has not epitomized those principles during his seven and a half years in office.
“Hillary Clinton was part of that process. She has, and the Obama administration has, attempted to prosecute more journalists and journalistic sources under the Espionage Act, that same Espionage Act that she was being investigated under, than all previous presidencies combined,” said Assange.
