Today’s kudos go out to medical professionals who have earned honors.

Insong James Lee

Occupation: Assistant professor in the department of pharmaceutical sciences at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland

Home: Mount Washington

Achievement: Lee joined the College of Notre Dame Maryland School of Pharmacy as an assistant professor on Aug. 1. Lee comes to College of Notre Dame from University of Maryland School of Pharmacy’s department of pharmaceutical sciences, where he served as research assistant professor and assistant professor since 2001.

“I am truly excited to be part of a pharmacy school which will instill students with an excellent scientific and practice foundation as well as a compassionate, whole patient care outlook.”

Dr. Richard A. Desi

Occupation: Gastroenterologist at Mercy Medical Center

Home: Silver Spring

Achievement: Desi is the newest addition to the gastroenterology staff at Mercy Medical Center. Desi earned his medical degree in 2002 from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine in 2005 at the University of Maryland.

“I’m very pleased to have joined Drs. David Posner, Michael Cox, Scott Huber and Patrick Hyatt in their gastroenterology practice at Mercy Medical Center and look forward to caring for patients.”
