The Maryland attorney general’s office on Monday ruled that former Gov. Bob Ehrlich’s weekly radio show can go on.
In a letter to the state Board of Elections, Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey L. Darsie said First Amendment rights of a free press trump the Maryland Democratic Party’s charge that the show qualifies as an illegal campaign contribution.
Ehrlich says the WBAL show does not violate campaign finance rules because he has not yet filed his candidacy formally with the state.
