The website for a dark money nonprofit group allied with President Joe Biden that is investigating House Republicans went down for several hours.
The Washington Examiner reported on Thursday that the Congressional Integrity Project has been almost entirely bankrolled by the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a group managed by Arabella Advisors, the largest Democratic Party-aligned dark money network in the United States. Between at least Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon, its website was not working properly and showed a “404” error code.
DEMOCRATIC DARK MONEY JUGGERNAUT BEHIND BIDEN-ALLIED GROUP TARGETING HOUSE GOP
It is unclear what the cause of the website error was, and the CIP did not respond to a request for comment.
Following the Washington Examiner’s Thursday report on the CIP, Brad Woodhouse, a longtime Democratic operative and one of the nonprofit group’s board members, reacted to it.
“Thank you for the profile piece on @usintegrityorg — laying out our message frame and a top hit on @RepJamesComer is hugely helpful,” he said. “Funny part was the hit you took from @capitalresearch which is a dark money group. Lol!”
Woodhouse was referring to the Capital Research Center, a conservative investigative think tank that, unlike the CIP, must disclose its donors to the IRS. The think tank’s president, Scott Walter, had said Arabella Advisors funded the CIP “into existence as needed to serve Democrats and their mega donors.”

The CIP, which has been relaunched after operating minimally in 2020, aims to push back on House GOP-led investigations next Congress through opposition research. The GOP investigations will purportedly relate to Hunter Biden’s business dealings, the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, the southern border crisis, COVID-19 origins, and the alleged politicization of the Justice Department.
“These investigations are revenge for the past two years of Biden working every day for all Americans, not the special interests,” CIP says on its website. “We’ll focus on spurious investigations designed to hurt the Biden administration and Democrats and to usher Donald Trump back into power — none of which address the real challenges affecting the daily lives of Americans.”

The CIP’s website links to its tax forms for 2020 and 2021 — which were not public until the Washington Examiner requested them via email. Nonprofit groups are required under law to hand over their tax forms to people within 30 days of a request being made.
