PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota has been awarded a state-level grant to update its management of student data.
The three-year, $3 million grant from the Institute of Education Sciences will support development and implementation of a Statewide Longitudinal Data System for the state’s K-12 schools.
South Dakota’s Education Secretary Melody Schopp says the systems are designed to enhance the ability of states to efficiently and accurately manage, analyze and use education data.
Schopp says it should help districts, schools and educators make data-informed decisions to improve student learning.
South Dakota’s award is one of 24 state-level grants authorized by the Educational Technical Assistance Act of 2002.
