Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 9 percentage points, 44-35, among likely voters in Colorado, according to a new poll.
The Colorado Mesa University/PBS survey showed Clinton’s advantage comes in part because of her favorability advantage. Clinton’s net favorability rating is -14 percentage points, while Trump’s net favorability rating is -38 points.
The U.S. Senate race is also shaping up well for the Democrats. Incumbent Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet leads GOP challenger Darryl Glenn by 13 percentage points, 45-32, with 20 percent still undecided. A majority of registered voters, 55 percent, responded that they did not know enough about Glenn to rate him favorable or unfavorable.
Colorado was expected to be a battleground state that could have a determinative impact on the presidential election and balance of power in the Senate. Now, it looks as though Colorado is moving leftward in the final days before the 2016 election.
The Colorado Mesa University/PBS poll surveyed 540 registered voters and 350 likely voters in Colorado over the phone and online from September 14-18. The survey had a 5.1-percentage-point margin of error, and a 6.3-percentage-point margin of error among the likely voters polled.
