President Trump will be laying low at the White House this weekend, a departure from his tendency to spend Saturdays and Sundays at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla.
Trump has spent five weekends at his Sunshine State estate. After a tough week, including the House Republican leadership canceling a vote on the American Health Care Act on Friday, Trump has nothing listed on his schedule on this weekend.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer already told reporters Thursday that Trump will be staying in Washington, D.C., this weekend.
Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence will be busy on Saturday traveling to Charleston, W.Va., for a listening session with small business owners. He will be joined by Small Business Administration Administrator Linda McMahon to meet with local residents at the Foster Supply business.
On Sunday, Pence will speak at the meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Top members of Congress as well as Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu are also scheduled to speak.
Trump said Friday, in the face of the healthcare bill defeat, that he now looks to Congress to move on to reforming the tax code.
