Capitol Hill’s new community center will hold its grand opening on Saturday.
The Hill Center opened its doors to classes and programs in October and will begin offering educational, civic and social functions for people of all ages.
Saturday’s festivities begin with a flag raising ceremony at 11:40 a.m., with music by the U.S. Marine Corps Band. D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray is expected to make remarks, and the building opens at noon.
Hill Center is housed within the restored Old Naval Hospital, on Pennsylvania Avenue between 9th and 10th streets SE, one block from the Eastern Market Metro station.
