MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) — A second round of layoffs at a Manitowoc-based company that specializes in ice products will affect about 60 employees, according to the state Department of Workforce Development.
The upcoming Manitowoc Ice layoffs will happen in early December, HTR Media (http://htrne.ws/1oVezz7 ) reported. An official at the department said 50 workers were laid off in August and 50 more are expected to face layoffs next March.

Manitowoc Ice officials announced in March its popular “Indigo” line of ice machines would be outsourced to Mexico. They said the change would cause a majority of some 235 local machinist union members to eventually lose their jobs.
The company cited global competitive factors, including reduced tariffs and proximity to some of its biggest customers, for the move.
Manitowoc Ice President and CEO Glen Tellock said in May that jobs involving the product development, engineering, marketing, finance and service functions of other products would remain at the Wisconsin plant.
The company’s 2013 sales totaled approximately $4 billion.
