Metro plans to raise fares this summer and now Alexandria’s DASH bus service plan to do the same.
The DASH base fare will rise to $1.50 from $1.25. The monthly bus pass will cost $35, a $5 increase. The bus service is also adjusting the schedules and routes of four lines:
• AT6: timetable adjustments
• AT7: re-routed for one way service between the King St. Metro and the Lee Center and between Duke and Ripley and Duke and Pickett Streets
• AT4: off-peak weekday and Saturday service will be extended to King Street Metro
• AT8 East: rerouted at the end of the line in North Old Town, from Pendleton to Madison Streets
But Alexandria riders have a bit more time as those changes won’t take place until July 18, instead of Metro’s June 27 switchover.
