Maryland?s educational system ranks third in the nation, according to an evaluation by Education Week released today.
Only three states: Maryland, Massachusetts and New York, earned a grade of B after the education journal examined the results of national test scores, Advanced Placement enrollment and test scores, high school graduation rates, teachers and school finances.
No state earned an A.
The news couldn?t come at a better time for states schools chief Nancy Grasmick, who faces a tough battle in the state legislature, where leading lawmakers want to pass measures forcing her to step down.
