Gray cuts ribbon to revamped high school

D.C. Mayor Vince Gray cut the ribbon the revamped Anacostia Senior High School on Monday, the latest step in the city’s ongoing effort to modernize outdated schools.

The school now features interactive whiteboards, laptop computers for students, a fully renovated gynasium and is being considered for a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification.

“Anacostia Senior High is the first of many state-of-the-art new or renovated public education facilities we’re opening for this school year,” Gray said in a statement on Monday. “Today we are cutting the ribbon on first-rate technology for both teachers and students, environmentally friendly design features and other upgrades.”
