Former Maryland governor Bob Ehrlich is announcing a plan to help the state’s small business owners just four days after Gov. Martin O’Malley announced his small business coalition.
Ehrlich, who is planning another run for governor, has spent the last eight weeks traveling around the state and meeting with small business owners.
The former governor’s office says his plan, to be announced Monday, will “revitalize Maryland’s economy, which has suffered from a doubling of the unemployment rate since 2006 and the closure of 3,000 small businesses in the last year.”
O’Malley created a small business panel on Thursday to address barriers to economic growth, upon the recommendation of a task force he created last year for the same reason.
