The View‘s Joy Behar had a nontraditional response about how she views marriage.
During a segment on Tuesday’s show, the panel discussed the idea of marital hatred being “normal.”

“Marriage, as an institution, you feel like you’re captive,” Behar said. “And when you’re captive, you hate the person who’s the captor. Sometimes you can’t get out, you can’t have an affair, you can’t do anything fun.”
Behar’s answer seemed to take the audience and her co-hosts by surprise.
“There was a whole sentence in there that we’re going to have to go past, but you all know you heard her say, ‘You wanna have an affair, but you can’t have an affair,'” Whoopi Goldberg said.

“You can still love the person, but you’re a captive,” Behar responded before the show cut to a commercial break.
Behar is in her second marriage.
