City seeking youth advisers

The D.C. government is accepting applications from young people who want to serve on the D.C. Youth Advisory Council. The group provides regular feedback to top city officials, including Mayor Vincent Gray and District lawmakers. More than 30 people between the ages of 13 and 22 will participate in the nine-month program, which begins in September.

Applications, which require recommendation letters and are due Aug. 17, are available at dcyac.dc.gov. The selection process includes an interview.
