Joe Biden will personally address a former Senate aide’s allegation of sexual assault for the first time in an interview Friday morning on MSNBC.
Tara Reade, a former member of Biden’s Senate staff, alleged that Biden pushed her against the wall, kissed her, and penetrated her with his fingers in the summer of 1993. While no witnesses to the alleged assault have come forward, several people have said that Reade told them about the assault at the time. Reade also said it was her mother who called in to Larry King’s show in 1993 to say her daughter had been assaulted by a “prominent senator” but did not come forward out of respect.
Members of Biden’s campaign have vehemently denied that the former vice president sexually assaulted Reade or anyone else, but the candidate has yet to address the situation himself.
Biden will speak with co-hosts Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Willie Geist on Morning Joe on Friday, which airs from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. EST.
Tomorrow in a @Morning_Joe exclusive, former Vice President @JoeBiden joins @JoeNBC, @morningmika & @WillieGeist to respond for the first time to the recent allegation of sexual assault.
