Paul Ryan, who is still supporting the controversial presumptive GOP nominee, said that Donald Trump has a better temperament in private.
“I can’t speak for his stage presence but in private I find his temperament to be much better,” Ryan said to George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week.”
Ryan has criticized Donald Trump for what he deemed racist comments about a federal judge presiding over a lawsuit on Trump University.
However, Ryan told Stephanopoulos that he is still supporting Trump because he would be better than Hillary Clinton. “I believe he is certainly better than Hillary Clinton. These are the options that we have,” he said.
He added that he hoped Trump would improve the tone of his campaign.
