“Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough appeared to take a swipe at President Trump when quoting Benjamin Franklin in a Fourth of July tweet.
“A republic, if you can keep it,” Scarborough tweeted Tuesday with a photo of the founding father.

The feud between Scarborough and Trump escalated last week when the president claimed he saw co-host Mika Brzezinski at Mar-a-Lago on New Year’s Eve and she was ‘bleeding badly from a face-lift.”
Trump, who is frequently criticized by Scarborough and Brzezinski, was widely condemned for his comments.
Scarborough’s is certain to be widely interpreted as suggesting Trump is a danger to the republic. The recent controversy has put the show hosts at the center of attention, and Scarborough’s July Fourth tweet can be expected to extend that a bit longer.
