WATCH: Trump claims ‘there’s a lot of talk’ about Ilhan Omar being ‘married to her brother’

President Trump claimed he had heard a lot of people talking about Rep. Ilhan Omar being “married to her brother.”

“There’s a lot of talk about the fact that she was married to her brother. I know nothing about it,” Trump told reporters Wednesday.

“I’m sure that somebody would be looking at that,” he added.

Some right-wing sites contend that her ex-husband is really her brother, a claim Omar has vigorously denied.

Omar’s marriages have received scrutiny from mainstream outlets after the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board revealed that the Minnesota Democrat had filed taxes with a man to whom she was not legally married while she was married to another man.

The Washington Examiner obtained dozens of documents in June that indicate Omar lived with her current husband, Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi while marred to her second husband Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Social media posts also indicate Omar might have committed perjury in divorce documents in which she claimed to not have had contact with Elmi since their religious divorce in 2011.

Omar, 37, has repeatedly refused requests from the Washington Examiner to clarify questions about her marriage discrepancies.
