Hollywood actress and progressive activist Lena Dunham called House Speaker Paul Ryan on Monday to give him a piece of her mind after President-elect Trump announced the appointment of Steve Bannon to his administration.
The HBO writer posted a video of herself dialing Ryan at his Washington, D.C., office and leaving a voicemail — though Ryan will probably never get her message.
“Hi, Speaker Ryan. This is Lena Dunham calling. I wanted to leave a message to let you know how disappointed so many of us are in the appointment of Steve Bannon. I’m not sure you’re really going to listen to this, but I hope you do, because I want to let you know that as a woman, as a Jew, as a person who cares about other human beings, people of color, the idea of appointing an anti-Semitic white supremacist —” Dunham said before the recording service cut her off and asked if she was satisfied with the message.
“No, I’m not actually satisfied with my recording.”
Leaving a quick v-mail for Paul Ryan. You can too! 202-225-3031 A video posted by Lena Dunham (@lenadunham) on Nov 14, 2016 at 12:59pm PST
