Necklace could help solve Potomac explosion

Authorities say a necklace could help investigators learn more about an explosion at a Potomac home.

The necklace was found near a home on the 9200 block of Inglewood Drive where a device exploded Wednesday night. Fire officials say the necklace has Hebrew letters that spell “Jennifer.”

Investigators are asking anyone who has information about the necklace or the incident to call the Montgomery County fire and explosives tip line at 240-777-2263.

Authorities are classifying the device as a pipe bomb, but are still investigating the materials involved. The device explosed at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday. No one was home at the time of the blast, which broke a front window and caused minor damage inside the home.
