That’s what Flip Saunders said last weekend after the Wizards (3-9) lost to Detroit. Not an inaccurate glimpse of the future after a second straight debacle, this time a blowout loss to San Antonio (5-6).
That’s eight losses in nine games. That’s another man down with injury, Mike Miller, who already was banged up and left tonight with injured calf.
That’s another poor shooting night for Gilbert Arenas, who had 18 points on 18 shots and just two assists — oh, heck, the entire Wizards roster shot terribly and defended just as bad. It’s too easy, sometimes, to single out Arenas.
Lastly, that’s another game off the pace. The Wizards are tied for the third worst record in the NBA, and when they take the court Tuesday — against the 76ers and Eddie Jordan, on the anniversary of his firing, Washington will have one fewer loss did than Jordan when he was given the boot.
