MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on Tuesday evening claimed to have President Trump’s unreleased tax returns and said she plans to discuss their contents on tonight’s show at 9 p.m.
“BREAKING: We’ve got Trump tax returns. Tonight, 9pm ET. MSNBC. (Seriously),” Maddow tweeted.
In a follow up tweet, she narrowed that from “returns” to “return,” specifically Trump’s 1040 personal income tax filing form from 2005.
The promised scoop will come care of David Cay Johnston, author of the anti-Trump book The Making of Donald Trump. On his own Twitter account Tuesday, Johnston announced, “On @maddow I’ll break a big story about Trump and his taxes.”

President Trump refused to release his tax returns during the election. Candidate Trump said his organization was being audited and would not release financial information, citing legal advice.
