Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie claimed Monday that President Trump has managed to protract Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, adding the special counsel’s probe seems to be successful thus far.
“I’ve told him [Trump] many times that there’s no way to make an investigation like this shorter, but there’s lots of ways to make it longer, and he’s executed on a number of those ways to make it longer,” Christie said during an appearance at the University of Chicago.
“You can’t argue that the investigation hasn’t been effective so far. A number of guilty pleas, couple of indictments in a year. It’s pretty good work,” he added.

“Bob Mueller himself is not a partisan, he’s an honest guy, he is a hard working guy, he’s smart and you can’t argue that the investigation hasn’t been effective so far”

Christie also praised Mueller personally, describing him as smart, hardworking, and nonpartisan.
Christie’s support for the investigation comes as Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and congressional Republicans like House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., mount political pressure on Mueller to “wrap up” his probe.
