Jay Inslee visits Nevada as he mulls 2020 bid

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee recounted his progressive stances during a visit to Nevada Saturday as he considers a run for president.

Although during his visit he did not mention whether he was any closer to making a decision on a Democratic bid for president, he did take steps to establish his position as one of the most publicly active governors in the U.S., the Associated Press reported.

While visiting Nevada, Inslee cited his previous record regarding minimum wage, climate change, marijuana legalization, paid family leave, and gun control.

Climate change is “the first and foremost obligation” facing the country, Inslee said.

He also talked about how he challenged President Trump’s suggestion of arming teachers following school shootings last year.

“I looked him in the eye and said, ’You know what, you’ve got to do less tweeting and more listening to teachers,” Inslee said. “He cannot stop us. He has not stopped me either.”

Inslee will also travel soon to New Hampshire, the first primary state, while he is still considering a bid for the White House.
