Last night Hillary Clinton appeared on the Jimmy Fallon show. The subject of Donald Trump came up. Clinton asked Fallon, “Have you ever been able to let him touch—let you touch his hair?” Fallon replied, “I’ve never touched his real—I don’t know, I think it is real hair. He never let me touch his hair.”
Then, to show authenticity or something, Clinton asked, “you want to touch mine?”
After praising Clinton’s hair, Fallon said, “We had him on the show. He was great. we talked to him. He goes, ‘you know, Hillary Clinton uses the teleprompter … scripted too much,'” implying that’s not the case, as unscripted Clinton encouraged him to touch her hair.
The exchange then devolved further into joking about her emails and what was in them. “What we’re thinking is probably much worse. Are you just like typing in all caps? Is it embarrassing?” Joking about her scandal—totally authentic. Or was that one of the things the focus groups said weren’t authentic? Hard to remember…
