White House counselor Kellyanne Conway lashed out against Hillary Clinton on Tuesday over the former presidential candidate’s recent remarks suggesting the election had been stolen from her.
Speaking on “The Hugh Hewitt Show,” Conway said that despite the election being two years in the past, Clinton still can’t accept the fact that President Trump won.
“She lost that election fairly and squarely, and when she says that election was stolen from her to hoots and hollers from the audience, she’s playing a dangerous game,” Conway said. “Here she is two and half years later, literally will not accept the election results because she lost.”
“She simply can’t connect with Americans, and I know that’s hard for her to hear,” she added.
During an event in Los Angeles over the weekend, Clinton suggested that she lost the 2016 election because it was “stolen” from her.
“You can run the best campaign, you can even become the nominee, and you can have the election stolen from you,” Clinton said Saturday, noting that she worries that Russia will once again meddle in the upcoming 2020 presidential election.
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s report found that Russia did work to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, but cleared Trump of conspiring with Russia to do so.
