SEE IT: Who caught Aaron Judge’s 62nd home run ball, and how much is it worth?

The fan who caught New York Yankee Aaron Judge’s historic 62nd home run ball has a big decision to make.

Cory Youmans was in the right place at the right time during Game 2 of the Yankee’s doubleheader against the Rangers in Arlington, Texas, Tuesday as he caught the ball that broke Roger Maris’s American League and franchise single-season home run record set in 1961.

After reportedly positioning himself to make the catch in section 31, row 1, seat 3, Youmans, a vice president at Fisher Investments in Dallas, was seen quickly escorted to a secure room by stadium security so Major League Baseball officials could authenticate the ball.

As Youmans was walking, he told reporters he was unsure of what he would do with the ball.

“That’s a good question! I haven’t thought about it!” Youmans said.

Before the record home run was even hit, Memory Lane President JP Cohen had put out a $2 million offer for the ball.

“I’ll immediately pay $2 million for that baseball, and I want to promptly loan it for display at Yankee Stadium for the public to see in person,” Cohen told Sports Collectors Daily last week.

Cohen said his offer was because of the “historic significance for the New York Yankees and Major League Baseball.”

It remains to be seen what Youmans could get if he chooses to pursue an open auction.

Yankees fan Ashin Rangani was nearby Youmans at the time of the catch and shared his celebratory moment on Twitter.

Judge, a four-time MLB All-Star, hit the home run with no one on base on the third pitch of the game against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field. The outfielder is now seventh overall for most home runs in a single season, trailing numbers posted by baseball greats Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, and Sammy Sosa.
