Creative writing contests open to middle school students

All Baltimore County public middle school students in grades six through eight are encouraged to enter their creative writings in the 11th annual Baltimore County Middle School Writing Contest.

The contest is sponsored by the senior Literary Arts students at George Washington Carver Center for the Arts and Technology and solicits one piece of individually written original work in the categories of poetry, short story and nonfiction.

The deadline for entries is 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 11.

Additional details and contest rules are available from middle school English teachers throughout the BCPS system.
