Arnold Schwarzenegger responds to Trump’s taunt about his low ‘Apprentice’ ratings

Arnold Schwarzenegger quickly responded Thursday to President Trump bashing his television ratings as the host of “The Apprentice” by suggesting they switch jobs so “people can finally sleep comfortably again.”

“Hey Donald, I have a great idea. Why don’t we switch jobs? You take over TV, because you’re such an expert in ratings, and I take over your job. And people can finally sleep comfortably again,” Schwarzenegger said in a video posted to Twitter.

A separate statement from a Schwarzenegger spokesman took note of Trump’s own approval ratings coming into office.

“Arnold is praying that President Trump can start improving his own approval ratings, which were the worst in history for an incoming president, but taking his job seriously and working inclusively,” the statement said.

Trump spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast earlier Thursday and asked the audience to “pray for Arnold.”

“They hired a big, big movie star, Arnold Schwarzenegger to take my place,” Trump said. “And we know how that turned out. The ratings went right down the tubes, it’s been a total disaster … I want to just pray for Arnold if we can, for those ratings, OK?”
