President Trump thinks his business acumen can help improve the administrative services at the Department of Veterans Affairs, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Thursday.
Spicer told Fox News Trump has identified this as an area in which his experience as the head of the Trump Organization can be helpful.
“When you take a business-like approach to this, you can really solve these administrative and logistical problems,” he said.
He said Trump thinks the healthcare provided by the VA is high quality, but the problem comes in the administrative aspects of the department. Too many vets are waiting too long, and experiencing too many hassles to get appointments.
“You should not have someone who has served this country … and then find out they need to wait 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 days to see a doctor,” Spicer said.
