At the Ballston Rustico
Schlafly Christmas Ale:
Engert said this St. Louis brewery has only recently come to the D.C. metro area. “It’s amazing,” he said of the amber-ale that features caramel notes, orange peel and whole clove sticks.
Delirium Noel: A popular Belgian ale with secret spices. “It’s an amazing sipping beer,” Engert said.
Schlenkerla Rauchbier: This German “smoke beer” is a strong lager with smoke flavors. Engert will serve it from a direct-gravity tap.
At both locations
Troegs Mad Elf Ale: The only beer available at both locations for the event, Mad Elf has been a part of Rustico’s Festivus fun each of the last two years. “There’s just something awesome about that beer,” Engert said of the ruby red ale. It’s brewed with honey and has a high alcoholic content. Cherries give it added nuance.
