Police in Hong Kong warned protesters that they will not tolerate pro-democracy protesters’ threats to occupy government buildings if Chief Executive Leung Chun-Ying does not step down. (Oct. 2)

PRO-DEMOCRACY PROTESTERS CROWDED THE STREETS OF HONG KONG FOR A SEVENTH DAY –

ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON.. CROWDS PACKED SHOULDER TO SHOULDER OUTSIDE THE GATES OF THE GOVERNMENT HEADQUARTERS –

MANY.. GIVING CHIEF EXECUTIVE LEUNG CHUNG-YING AN ULTIMATUM: RESIGN OR PROTESTERS WILL OCCUPY GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS.

POLICE FIRING BACK WITH THREATS OF THEIR OWN.

“We stressed that police will not tolerate any illegal surrounding of government buildings. Police urge the protesters to remain calm and restrained.”

OFFICERS COULD BE SEEN CARRYING IN CONTAINERS OF EQUIPMENT PAST THE PROTESTERS – INCLUDING SOME LABLED ‘RUBBER BATONS.’

THE STUDENTS REMAINED WATCHFUL BUT CALM – A PICTURE REPEATED THROUGHOUT MUCH OF THE WEEK-LONG DEMONSTRATION.
