Republican Rep. Steve King thinks recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program should be sent to their home countries as Peace Corps volunteers.
“None would take more hardship or risk than we ask of Peace Corp[s],” King wrote Tuesday after the Trump administration announced it’s decision to rescind the program enacted by former President Barack Obama in 2012.
Former #DACA‘s will make great “Peace Corp” volunteers in home countries. None would take more hardship or risk than we ask of Peace Corp.

The program protected people under the age of 18 who were brought to the U.S. illegally from deportation.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said the decision to rescind DACA ended the “lawlessness” enabled by Obama’s executive action.
Peace Corps volunteers must be a least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen, according to the organization’s website.
