Accused child shooter denied bail

The man accused of shooting four people ? including three children ? in east Baltimore last week was ordered to be held without bail Monday morning.

Johnnie Toomer, 21, of the 2900 block of East Monument Street in Baltimore, faces four charges of attempted murder in Thursday?s shooting ? including one count against a state?s witness slated to testify in a murder trial.

The Baltimore Police Department is investigating whether the shooting was an act of witness intimidation.

Officers were called to the block at 12:45 p.m. for a report of multiple shootings and found an 11-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl and a 21-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to the legs.

Toomer and another man exited a green sport utility vehicle and began shooting at the man ? but struck all four people, according to police charging documents. The other suspect remains at large.
