Sen. Jeff Flake meets and gives thanks to injured Capitol Police agents for saving his life

Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., tweeted on Wednesday evening that he met with and thanked the Capitol Police special agents, Crystal Griner and David Bailey, who were shot during a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Va., Wednesday.

“Just met with Capitol Police officer Crystal Griner and David Bailey at the hospital. Thanked them for saving my life,” the senator tweeted.

House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., credited the officers with saving the lives of Republican lawmakers during a speech on the House floor.

Ryan said that one officer was being treated while the other was about to go into surgery.
