<br/></div> <p><b>UPDATE, 2:58 p.m.</b> Police have identified the victim as Cecilia Eck.</p> <p><b>ORIGINAL POST:</b>A Manassas woman was killed Wednesday morning in a two-car crash in the Gainesville area.</p> <p>Virginia State Police said the 89-year-old woman was driving west in the center lane of <a href=”http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Interstate+66+and+Route+234,+Prince+William+County,+VA&hl=en&ll=38.801123,-77.523136&spn=0.03291,0.066519&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=34.259599,68.115234&vpsrc=6&hnear=Interstate+66+%26+Virginia+234,+Gainesville,+Prince+William,+Virginia+20109&t=m&z=14″>Interstate 66 near the exit for Route 234</a> when she moved into the HOV lane and her Chevrolet Lumina was struck by a Ford Ranger.</p> <p>Police said the woman, whose name was not released, appears to have been trying to turn into the emergency strip in the median. The driver of the Ford Ranger, a male teenager, could not stop in time, authorities said.</p> <p>The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ranger driver and a passenger, a female teenager, were hospitalized with minor injuries, police said.</p> <p>Police said no charges will be filed in the crash.</p>
