Trump: Paul Ryan is ‘naive’ or ‘maybe something worse than that’

Donald Trump openly wondered if House Speaker Paul Ryan is “naive” in a Tuesday interview with right-wing radio host Mike Gallagher.

“There’s a great thing going on in the Republican Party, the people are incredible, but the leadership, boy, I tell you, I’ve never seen anything like it in my life,” Trump told Gallagher.

He continued to blast Ryan for indicating that he had confidence the election would not be rigged.

“Why doesn’t he walk over to Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Chicago and some of these cities?” Trump asked of Ryan. “Why would he issue a memo that the election’s not — is he naive? Because that’s naïveté or maybe something worse than that.”

Trump did not explain what would be worse than a naive House speaker or whether he subscribed nefarious motivations to Ryan’s actions. The businessman did say he believed his movement would continue to subsist after the election even if he loses, although he added that it would be hampered “big league” by a government controlled by Hillary Clinton.
