A D.C. police officer will spend two weekends in jail and two years on probation for using excessive force while arresting a man earlier this year.
Kisha Coley, 36, will spend a total of six days in jail and was also ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and receive anger-management counseling.
Coley pleaded guilty in October to two counts of assault. She resigned from the Metropolitan Police Department as part of her plea agreement.
Prosecutors said she got into a verbal argument while arresting a District man in March and then struck him with her baton.
