Monica Lewinsky claims she was uninvited from event because of Bill Clinton’s attendance

Monica Lewinsky’s invitation to Town & Country magazine’s annual philanthropic summit was rescinded on Wednesday because former President Bill Clinton was attending, the infamous former White House intern claims.

Lewinsky tweeted about her ouster, but did not say who was hosting the event.

“Dear world: Please don’t invite me to an event (esp one about social change) and – then after i’ve accepted – uninvite me because bill clinton then decided to attend/was invited. It’s 2018. Emily post would def not approve. Me.” Lewinsky wrote.

Later, attendees of the Town & Country summit confirmed to the Huffington Post that Lewinsky was uninvited from their event.

In his appearance Wednesday, Clinton introduced Emma Gonzalez, a gun control advocate and survivor of the high school shooting in Parkland, Fla., earlier this year.

Lewinsky, who commanded the nation’s attention in 1998 after it was revealed that she had an affair with Clinton while he was president, has more recently dedicated herself to the fight against cyberbullying.

Lewinsky launched an anti-bullying “click with compassion” campaign in 2017, urging Internet users to treat others with compassion while online.
